St. Louis – A jury has convicted Kevin Johnson of first-degree murder in the 2005 killing of Kirkwood police Sgt. William McEntee.

The jury took a little more than four hours Thursday to reach its verdict. It must now decide whether Johnson should get life in prison or the death penalty.

This is Johnson's second trial. The first ended in a mistrial after a jury couldn't decide between first and second degree murder.

Some witnesses said Johnson was angry at police the day of the killing.

They say he felt authorities had not done enough to save his younger brother, who had died of a heart condition earlier in the day.
