Paris, Mo. – The National Weather Service is still trying to determine if it was a tornado or simply high winds that struck a rural northeast Missouri mobile home, killing two people.
Forty-four-year-old Kent Ensor and 25-year-old Kristy Secrease were found early Thursday about 400 feet from the mobile home near Paris.
There are reports the damage was due to a tornado, but the weather service says its investigators are heading to Paris to make that determination.
Tornadoes were also reported in southwest Missouri, but no injuries were reported there.
Some areas had outages from downed lines. AmerenUE says about 10-thousand St. Louis-area homes were still without power as of Thursday morning.
