Man drowns, ambulance went to wrong place

By AP/KWMU

Normandy, Mo. – Police in Normandy, are investigating a drowning at a country club Monday night.

Barry Dorsey worked at the Glen Echo Country Club, which was holding a staff appreciation night.

Police say Dorsey, 45, was pulled from the pool and given CPR, but the ambulance that was called went to the wrong country club and arrived at the right place 14 minutes late.

Normandy Police Chief Doug Lebert says service has been declining lately. He blames it on the Fire District Board terminating good employees and replacing them with part-time, less qualified personnel.
