St. Louis, MO – St. Louis-based Brown Shoe Company said this (Wed.) morning it's expanding into China.
The company announced a joint venture with a shoe company in China - Hongguo International Holdings - to start marketing Brown shoes and open more than 400 stores in the next five years.
They're forming a new company called B&H Footwear, which will include Naturalizer women's shoes that Brown is well-known for. The joint venture will set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Dongguan, Guangdong Province where Brown Shoe has a sourcing operation with 600 employees.
