St. Louis, MO – Highway 40 will close Friday (4/20) at 10:00 in both directions between Hampton and Oakland.
Crews will be removing the Tamm Avenue overpass, which is the first bridge that will be replaced as part of the big I-64 reconstruction project.
Dan Galvin, a spokesman for the contractors in charge of the project, says the bridge will come down between 11:00 and midnight.
Traffic will be diverted onto nearby Oakland Avenue. The zoo and Forest Park Hospital will still be open this weekend, and Earth Day events are still on as planned in Forest Park.
