St. Charles, Mo. – The husband of a former St. Charles County prosecutor is accused of growing 359 marijuana plants in the basement of their home.
Max Conley was charged Tuesday with producing a controlled substance, a felony. Conley's attorney says he plans to turn himself in.
Conley is married to Ella Boone Conley, who resigned from the prosecutor's office September 26th amid the investigation.
She ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for associate circuit judge in the August 8 primary, and now works for a law firm in St. Peters.
Her attorney says she was unaware of the marijuana and was only living in the home part time because of domestic problems.
Ella Boone Conley has not been charged in the case.
