St. Louis, MO – The priest sex abuse victims group SNAP (Survivors' Network of Those Abuse by Priests) says John Shimkus should resign from the board that oversees the page program in the U.S. House.
The southern Illinois Congressman has found himself part of the national fallout from the resignation of Congressman Mark Foley over lurid emails to a page. Foley has now said he was abused by a priest when he was younger.
Shimkus has said he won't resign from the board.
But the group SNAP says the congressman should have called police when he learned of the emails, instead of confronting Foley.
