St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis School Board voted 4-2 Tuesday night to make Diana Bourisaw's job as superintendent a permanent one.

She's been interim superintendent for nearly two months, since Creg Williams' ouster.

Bourisaw came to the job with just a few weeks to get the district ready for the first day of class. First day attendance was lower than it has been in recent years, but by the end of the first week, 90% of students were in class.

Board member Ron Jackson walked out of the meeting Tuesday night before the vote in protest.
