St. Louis, MO – MetroLink riders were put on buses to get between the Wellston and Hanley stops during this morning's (Tuesday) rush hour, after a woman was struck and killed by a train.
A woman who says she was on the train told KWMU it happened just after the train left the UM-St. Louis North station.
County police spokeswoman Tracy Panus say police were actually called to the scene twice. They had been there just before the incident looking for someone who was reportedly on the tracks, but couldn't find her. Panus says the woman was probably hiding, and the death is believed to be a suicide.
The rest of the Metrolink line east of Wellston was running normal.
