St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Zoo has come up with five possible names for the elephant born earlier this month, and wants the public's help in narrowing the list to one.

The baby was born to Ellie just after midnight on Aug. 2. Elephant keepers selected five potential names, all reflecting the elephant's Asian heritage.

People can vote through noon on Monday, August 28. The names under consideration are:

Sundari (pronounced soon-dar'-ee), which means "beautiful woman"
Nisha (pronounced neesh'-ah), which means "night"
Maliha (pronounced mah-lee-hah), which means "strong" and "beautiful"
Sashi (pronounced sah'-shee), which means "moon"
Jaya (pronounced jay'-ah), which means "victorious."

People can vote for their favorite name by clicking here. One vote is allowed per person per day.
