St. Louis, MO. – A St. Louis woman has sued Joyce Meyer Ministries and the St. Louis Dream Center in the drowning death of her son last month at a Missouri state park.
Angela Washington is the mother of 16-year-old Deandre Sherman.
He died, along with four friends, on July 9 at a church picnic on the Meramec River.
The lawsuit filed yesterday in St. Louis Circuit Court says the church did NOT have Washington's permission to take her child to the river, and that the drowning resulted from negligence.
And it says the children were not properly supervised.
A statement from Joyce Meyer Ministries says the matter is being reviewed by the St. Louis Dream Center's insurance company.
