St. Louis, MO – Earlier this month, the Food and Drug Administration approved the Human Papillomavirus vaccine. The vaccine prevents women from getting the virus that has been shown to lead to a type of cancer.

On Monday, a team of doctors published an opinion that African American women should be the first to receive the vaccine.

KWMUs science reporter Robert Frederick has more on the vaccine, what those in the St. Louis medical community are saying about it, and its use on young girls.
