Kansas City voters to decide on stadium taxes

Kansas City, MO – As St. Louisans get ready to welcome a new ballpark, voters in Kansas City will decide the fate of two stadiums.

Busch Stadium will open on Tuesday with an exhibition game. That same day, Kansas City voters will decide whether two taxes should be approved to pay for massive upgrades and a rolling roof at Arrowhead and Kaufmann Stadiums, where the football Chiefs and baseball Royals play.

The NFL and Major League Baseball have promised Kansas City a Super Bowl and an All-Star Game, but only if the taxes pass.

But plenty of people remain unconvinced. Maria Carter prepared this report Kansas City.
