St. Louis, MO – St. Louis has landed another convention that was originally to be in New Orleans.
The National Science Teachers Association, which was to meet in spring of 2007. But Hurricane Katrina changed the group's plans, and it considered relocating to St. Louis, Orlando, Chicago.
The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission says the science teachers meeting is the 10th to relocate from New Orleans since the hurricane.
Those 10 groups are expected to pump more than $27 million into the local economy, with four more groups considering a move to St. Louis.
