St. Louis – The 3.6 magnitude earthquake that struck southern Illinois early this month did little more than rattle a few dishes. But it was a reminder that life near the New Madrid Fault demands constant preparation.
Missouri officially observes the start of Earthquake Awareness Week this Friday. However, an ongoing state project is trying to create the most detailed, site-specific maps of seismic hotspots to date. KWMU's Kevin Lavery reports.
