Wood River, Ill. – An Army Reserve unit based in the Metro-East town of Wood River is headed to Iraq.
About 75 members of the 1008th Quartermaster Company and their families told Wednesday they'd leave in fewer than two months. Lieutenant Jim Lavelle says the deployment could last 18 months.
Many of the reservists say they've been waiting for the deployment. Sergeant Mike Legare, 21, has mixed feelings about leaving. He got married a month-and-a-half ago, but says he's ready to fulfill his duty. An Army Reserve unit based in the Metro-East town of Wood River is headed to Iraq.
