St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Archdiocese says it will move its Catholic Family Services office to the campus of St. Sabina Parish in Florissant on February 1 to be in the region where Ford's Hazelwood plant is being closed.
Archbishop Raymond Burke says it's a way for the Catholic Church to provide support for displaced workers in more than prayer.
The center will provide counseling and other services to some of the 1,400 workers losing their jobs when the plant ceases operation March 10.
The Hazelwood shutdown is part of a massive restructuring plan announced by Ford earlier this week.
