Jefferson City, MO – The state of Missouri is ending its contract with a Lake St. Louis company that takes Medicaid recipients in Missouri to medical appointments.
Medical Transportation Management has been providing the service under month-to-month contracts. The monthly arrangement was adopted following a dispute a year ago over the bidding process for the service.
But MTM's contract will end August 1 because the Blunt administration says it wants to find other, cheaper ways to provide transportation to Medicaid recipients.
Payments to Medical Transportation Management in the fiscal year that ends June 30th will have totaled $40 million.
