St. Louis, MO – Anheuser-Busch beer wasn't delivered to any grocery store, bar, or restaurant in St. Louis City on Monday.
That's because the few dozen people who deliver that beer are on strike.
They're with Local 600 of the Teamsters Union, and are striking against Lohr Distributing.
Union President Dan McKay says Lohr wants workers to pay more for health care and also take on an increased workload.
"We tried to do everything possible to avert this action but there was just no other recourse," said McKay. "The company just seems to not want to negotiate in good faith."
Lohr's general manager Steve Lohr told the Post-Dispatch that Busch Stadium won't run out of beer during this week's Cardinals home games. It's not clear how other establishments will fare this Memorial Day weekend, though some told the paper they stockpiled before the strike.
The strike only affects the delivery of Anheuser-Busch products in the City. No talks have been planned.
Lohr Distributing is not commenting on the strike.
