Metro considers another fare hike

By Kevin Lavery, KWMU

St. Louis, MO –

Bus and light rail riders across the St. Louis area could soon be paying a little more for their trip.

The board of the mass transit agency Metro will consider a proposal this morning to raise fares over a two-year period.

The transit company claims skyrocketing fuel costs are piling onto the cost of doing business.

But others claim Metro is just making customers pay for its own fiscal mismanagement.

Kevin lavery prepared this report, which can be heard by clicking the listen' icon above.
