Activists Say I-MAX Film is Military Propaganda

By Kevin Lavery, KWMU

St. Louis – A new film opening this weekend at the St. Louis Science Center is angering an activist group that claims it has more to do with military recruitment than science.
The IMAX film "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag" documents a two-week military combat training program.

A group called the Peace Economy Project blasts the Boeing-sponsored film as a propaganda tool that has little to do with science.

The group's Chuck Gunther says it's unfortunate the St. Louis Science Center is showing the movie.

"We see this as a perversion of science. It's not science for humane purposes."

Science Center officials defend the film, saying it discusses aerodynamics, communications and engineering themes.
