Jefferson City, MO – Missouri state Senators debated Medicaid into the early hours this morning (Tuesday).
Democrats were trying to delay a vote on proposed cuts to the program.
Governor Matt Blunt has proposed taking thousands of Missourians off Medicaid rolls, saying it's the only way to free up more money for schools without raising taxes.
Democrats say the state should wait until a commission studies the matter and makes recommendations. But Republican leaders say debate on the bill will resume this morning and they expect a vote on the cuts this week.
