St. Louis, MO – New data from the Missouri Department of Higher Education suggest fewer students are defaulting on college loans.
In all, 1,056 borrowers in Missouri defaulted on their loans during the 2003 fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2002 - Sep. 30, 2003).
That translates to about 3.7% of all borrowers, which compares to 4.53% who defaulted during the 2002 fiscal year.
The final report will be released in September.
