St. Louis, MO – Members of a federal advisory board will review the case this week of former Mallinckrodt workers in St. Louis.
They'll hear from the former nuclear workers and make a recommendation as to whether their case should get a special designation.
That designation could speed-up the process for payment from the government.
Workers who were exposed to radiation during the Cold War stand to get as much as $150,000. But some note the process takes too long, considering some workers are already sick and other have died.
The panel meets Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Adam's Mark Hotel, near the Arch.
