St. Louis, MO – A parish spokesman says a priest on loan to St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic church will celebrate midnight Mass there tonight.
The archdiocese issued a statement today saying Burke had not granted permission for Masses to be celebrated there.
The church and archdiocese have been at odds for nearly a year.
The archdiocese says the church's lay board structure doesn't conform with church law.
The board and most parishioners believe the archdiocese wants control of the parish's $9 million in assets.
