Belleville, Ill. – The Belleville, Ill. School Board is considering a new dress code for its two high schools (Belleville West and Belleville East).
The plan would let students only wear solid-colored pants, skirts, shirts, sweaters, sweat shirts and turtlenecks. The only colors allowed would be black, blue, white, khaki, maroon and gray.
Students would not be allowed to wear jeans, sweat pants, leather, stretch-spandex, or cargo or carpenter pants.
About 200 people attended a school board meeting Monday to hear about the dress code; most who spoke to the board opposed the idea.
There has been no final decision made by the school board.
