Carbondale, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees is losing a long-time member.
Harris Rowe, 81, has announced his regisnation. He says he's enjoyed being on the board, but adds it's time to leave.
The Jacksonville resident was appointed to the board by Governor Dick Ogilvie in 1971. Rowe served twice as the board's chairman, three times as vice chairman and twice as secretary.
Governor Rod Blagojevich will appoint a replacement.
