St. Louis, MO –

The race for Missouri's seat in the U-S Senate is coming into the home stretch. Incumbent Republican Kit Bond is fighting off a challenge from Democratic State Treasurer Nancy Farmer and two third party candidates.

Bond is a three-term senator who serves on a number of influential committees. He also served two terms as Missouri Governor.

Farmer is a former state lawmaker who's making her first run at federal office.

KWMU's Kevin Lavery prepared this report.
