st. louis, mo – St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch was named Tuesday the official international beer for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

The deal gives Anheuser-Busch rights to use the 2008 Olympic Games logo for promotional purposes in China and 29 other countries. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Anheuser-Busch officials call China the fastest-growing beer market in the world; the company's presence there has been growing steadily.

"China is the most important international market for Anheuser-Busch," said Patrick Stokes, the company's president and CEO, in a statement. "Budweiser's sponsorship of the 2008 Olympic Games reinforces our commitment to supporting the communities where we do business."
