EDWARDSVILLE, IL – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is spending almost $10 million to remove mold from three residence halls.
University spokesman Greg Conroy says the work is expected to be finished Thursday.
After that, the residence halls can be readied for the students' return.
Workers have spent the past few months installing new air-handling equipment and ductwork in the buildings.
Carpeting, insulation and drywall damaged by the mold had to be removed and replaced.
Meanwhile, the university has filed a lawsuit against the companies associated with the construction of the dorms.
