St. Louis, MO – A woman was found dead in her home in suburban Pagedale Wednesday.
Hers is being called the St. Louis area's first heat-related of the year.
The St. Louis County medical examiner's office says Carey Gay, 49, died from excessive body temperature. She was found with a body temperature of 105 degrees.
There were no fans or air conditioners on in her home.
The National Weather Service says that Tuesday was the area's hottest day of the year. The high reached 97 degrees; the heat index made it feel like 115.
