Eureka, MO – Six people at Six Flags St. Louis claim they've broken the world record for consecutive hours spent on a Ferris wheel.
They were aboard for about 36 straight hours, and will submit the feat to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The wheel was equipped with privacy curtains and portable toilets.
The riders got off the wheel twice during the contest last week because of lightning. Otherwise, they ate and slept on the wheel.
The contest was in honor of the 1904 World's Fair, which was held in St. Louis and featured a Ferris wheel.
One of the riders, 42-year-old Rhonda Crocker of Bonne Terre, won a drawing for $1,000.
The others received $500 from Six Flags, passes to the park and concert tickets from a local radio station.
