ST. Louis, MO – Investigators are accusing a Wellston police officer of accepting a bribe and saying he could get someone probation rather than prison time for a drug arrest.
A grand jury indicted Cornell Boone, 24, Wednesday for bribery, obstruction of justice and making false statements. The indictment accuses Boone of trying to get $7,000 from a relative of the person he arrested. It also says Boone then accepted a $4,000 bribe and deceived investigators about it.
The FBI and St. Louis County police investigated the matter. A phone call to the Wellston police was not answered.
