St. Louis – The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District Friday named acting executive director Jeffrey Theerman as its permanent director.
Theerman has served as MSD's acting director since last October.
He says MSD will continue to strive to restore public trust.
Earlier this year, MSD passed a half-billion dollar bond issue to finance an 18-year infrastructure improvement program.
Theerman says those projects are on track.
"Over 50 percent of that $500 million is in projects that either have started or will start in the coming fiscal year," Theerman said. "So we're well underway to achieving what we said we'd deliver to the ratepayers."
Theerman was selected for MSD's top job after a five-month search process that reviewed 57 applicants.
