Jefferson City, MO – A new website that was launched this week to let Missourians look up where registered sex offenders live crashed because it had so much traffic.
The Highway Patrol says its computer equipment can't handle hundreds or thousands of searches at one time.
Many people Wednesday were unable to actually search for sex offenders in their city.
The problem could be solved in the future. The budget lawmakers recently passed includes $600,000 for equipment for the patrol's website.
