St. Louis, MO – A Department of Homeland Security official will Governor Bob Holden, Missouri homeland security chief Tim Daniel and law enforcement officers in St. Louis Friday to discuss the system.
It's called the Joint Regional Information Exchange System. Officials say authorized users in the District of Columbia, all 50 states and five territories will be able to track possible
terrorist threats.
The network is part of a broader system developed since the September 2001 terrorist attacks that gives local police chiefs, mayors and governors greater access to federal intelligence.
