St. Louis, MO – St. Louis City's Health Director, Hugh Stallworth, resigned Monday, after only 15 months on the job.
The Post-Dispatch says Stallworth was to meet today (Tuesday) with Mayor Francis Slay to discuss questions about his leadership. Stallworth was the city's highest-paid employee, part of Slay's cabinet, and says he could accomplish little in an environment of continual budget cuts. He was hired in October 2002 after a nine-month national search.
