Jefferson City, MO – State Senator Jon Dolan is back at the Capitol after an Army investigation stemming from his pivotal vote on concealed guns legislation.
The Republican from Lake St. Louis took leave from a National Guard assignment in Cuba last year, to help over-ride Governor Holden's veto of a concealed guns bill.
Army investigators concluded that he unknowingly violated a rule against engaging in political activity while on a tour of duty.
Dolan was given a letter of admonition, and he asked to be relieved of his Guard assignment.
Dolan says he plans to use his elected office to pursuade Army officials to change or clarify the rules for public officials who are called to duty.
