St. Louis, MO – Two St. Louis police officers are suspended with pay while the department investigates a weekend shooting.
Police say they were moving in Sunday to arrest four people suspected of breaking into cars outside a Home Depot, when the suspects tried to flee by ramming into police cars.
At least one officer reportedly opened fire when the suspects drove at police. One suspect died later a hospital. Two others were arrested at the scene, and a fourth was at large.
The suspect who was shot once and killed was 22-year-old Mark Diggs of St. Louis. Police say Diggs was on probation from an auto tampering charge.
