Farmington, MO – The only woman considered a violent sexual predator in Missouri was freed from a treatment center Wednesday.
Angela Coffel's lawyers successfully argued there was not enough evidence to keep her confined. She served five years for sexually abusing two boys, but the state has kept her locked up since under the violent sexual predator law.
She pleaded guilty in 1996 to two counts of sodomy for abusing brothers ages 11 and 14.
Coffel is 27 and has HIV. In March, the Missouri Court of Appeals in St. Louis order she be freed.
