Many of the 100 or so St. Louis delegates who visited San Diego this week were veterans of past fact-finding missions in other cities.
Since 1996, the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association has sponsored annual visits to cities such as Cleveland, Seattle and Boston to observe their versions of urban planning and economic development.
Before the group left San Diego, RCGA president Dick Fleming told KWMU's Kevin Lavery that many of these trips have encouraged St. Louis' downtown revitalization effort.
