Jefferson City, MO – Missouri State Senator Jon Dolan is back in Jefferson City for the legislative veto session after being granted leave from his military duties in Cuba. He says he will vote to override Governor Holden's veto of a concealed weapons bill.
The Lake Saint Louis Republican is a major in the Army National Guard, and is stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
He said his vote could make the difference on the override.
Supporters of the gun bill believe Dolan's vote will give them the 23 they need to override the Holden veto. Wednesday, the House voted to override by the necessary two-thirds margin.
Dolan said he did not receive any preferential treatment from the military on his request for a leave.
The vetoed bill would let Missourians 23 and older apply to their county sheriffs for a permit to carry concealed guns.
