St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis County Council could discuss two measures dealing with garbage dumps at its meeting Tuesday night.
One measure would keep the council from approving any new trash transfer stations for six months. The other would establish new rules on just where the stations could be located.
The bills are a response to plans for a dump near Oakville, which have drawn vocal opposition. Last week, the state of Missouri returned a permit request for the project, saying Fred Weber, Inc. hadn't proved it owns the site.
