St. Louis, MO – A man who was sickened by salmonella poisoning at St. Louis Children's Hospital last month is suing the facility.
Addam Jones of St. Louis was among 101 people who contracted the disease that was traced to the hospital's cafeteria. Jones was visiting the hospital while his son was being treated in the pediatric intensive care unit.
The lawsuit alleges that Jones experienced intense abdominal cramping, diarrhea and nausea, as well as fever and joint pain. No specific damages are requested in the suit.
Children's Hospital officials had no immediate comment. They say the source of the contamination is still unknown.
