St. Louis, Mo – The Cardinals say a new stadium project would be hurt if the state cuts $12 million from the budget to replace a highway ramp near Busch Stadium.
The current ramp would be in the way of where planners say a new stadium would stand.
The team says the project's private financing is built around the agreement with the state. A House panel on Tuesday cut the money from the Transportation Department.
The Cardinals are still seeking $275 million from private investors. St. Louis County was to kick in $45 million; opponents want to put that decision to county voters.
