A St. Louis police officer is recovering after being shot in the arm. The suspect in the shooting was captured after a manhunt of several hours.

The 30-year-old officer approached a robbery suspect at 1:30 a.m. Friday on North Broadway. Police say that as the officer neared the man, the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire. A bullet struck the officer's arm, but he was not seriously hurt.

The suspect fled. Several hours later, police surrounded a home in St. Louis County and took a man into custody. His name has not been released and charges have not yet been filed.
